Virtual office offers in Milan look interchangeable from the outside. These seven questions separate them quickly, and a provider’s reluctance to answer any of them is itself an answer.

1. How many companies are registered at this address?

The most useful question and the one most often deflected. A registered office shared with thousands of entities is publicly visible — anyone can search the business register by address — and it dilutes exactly the credibility you are paying for.

2. Is there a staffed office behind the address?

Ask what is physically at the address and whether people work there daily. Some providers operate a mail room; some operate nothing at all and forward from a depot. It matters when a bailiff, a courier or a bank representative turns up.

3. What is the full price, including everything?

Headline monthly rates in central Milan commonly range from around €69 to €159. Ask specifically about the activation fee, whether the rate assumes an annual commitment, and what happens to the price at renewal. A low advertised figure conditional on twelve months prepaid is a different product from a monthly one.

4. What exactly happens to my mail?

Received and stored, or immediately forwarded? Scanned? At what cost? Registered letters and formal notices handled how? Ask about the failure case too: what happens if something arrives while your account is in arrears.

5. Can I sign from abroad?

If the provider needs you physically present, or requires documents by post between countries, factor in weeks. Remote signature with a one-time code compresses that to an afternoon.

6. What does the contract say about termination?

Read the notice period and what happens to your registered office if the contract ends. A company left registered at an address it no longer has the right to use has a real compliance problem, not a theoretical one. Know the exit before the entrance.

7. Who am I actually contracting with?

Get the legal name and VAT number of the counterparty and look it up. You are about to make this entity the legal domicile of your company. It is reasonable to know how long it has existed and whether it is solvent.

A note on how we answer them

We publish the answers rather than waiting to be asked: capped at 200 companies, a working advisory practice on site, €45 a month + VAT with the meeting room and forwarding priced separately and openly, remote signature by one-time code, and the contracting entity named with its VAT number on the about page.

Apply the seven questions to us as readily as to anyone else. The full terms are on the pricing page.
